Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, why it is used, and the limited circumstances in which it may be disclosed. By using this website, you accept these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email sent to us may be kept as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our servers automatically receive basic technical information when a page loads:

  • Page-view timestamps
  • Your device type and operating system
  • The referring site, when one is available
  • Your browser type and version
  • The pages viewed and time spent on them
  • The IP address used by your device

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. We and our analytics services use them to understand traffic patterns, such as popular pages and points where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how parts of the site work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Diagnosing and correcting technical problems
  • Operating the site and maintaining its performance
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
  • Routing search requests to the selected outside provider
  • Understanding which pages are useful and which need improvement

No Criminal-Record Data on File

This site does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It provides general directions to custodians such as the Minidoka County Sheriff's Records Division, Minidoka County courts, Idaho State Police Bureau of Criminal Identification, and the Idaho Central Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not used to create consumer reports or third-party criminal-record profiles.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their own privacy policies govern submitted information, including retention and disclosure practices that we do not control. Read the applicable provider policy before running a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Minidoka County offices, Idaho agencies, court portals, legal resources, or outside search services. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy terms apply. Review them before providing personal information.

Some advertising providers may track activity across websites to personalize ads. That processing occurs on the provider's systems.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal information. Data may be available to:

  • Advertising networks that place ads on the site
  • Search providers processing a query you submit
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand
  • Analytics vendors measuring traffic and performance

How We Protect Your Data

We use customary safeguards for information under our control. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed completely secure, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

This website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will delete it.

Your Data Rights

Rights may vary by residence and applicable law. Idaho's public-record framework is the Idaho Public Records Law, Idaho Code title 74, chapter 1. Criminal-history dissemination is separately governed by Idaho Code section 67-3008. Those government-record laws do not turn this private site into a public agency, but at a minimum you may:

  • Opt out of certain processing where the law provides that choice
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Ask for access to personal information we hold about you
  • Request deletion where applicable law requires it

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised. Any new version becomes available on this page with its updated effective date.
